What's on Cairns This December

Buy Your Christmas Gifts at The Pier Markets

It's the time of the year again to buy gifts for the people we love. But you're not just looking for an ordinary trinket or tee. Yours should be unique and match the recipient's interests and personality. The mall is great for finding the usual read-to-wear trousers, latest sneakers, or whatnot. But if you're looking for one-of-a-kind items to make your family or friend happy, then off to The Pier Market.

The Pier Markets has unique clothing, healing candles, and aboriginal art. It also features excellent food choices so you can grab a bite after a day spent shopping. Check out The Pier Markets on 17th December. Stalls open at 9 am, and they start packing up at 2 pm.

Watch the Carols in the Park

Carols in the Park is back and more festive than ever. The event will be held at the Munro Martin Parkland and has a theme, "Baubles and Bows." It will feature Cairns' best soloists, choirs, and musicians. Attendees at Carols in the Park can expect an evening filled with traditional and contemporary holiday music.

Bring your picnic blankets or foldable chairs to get comfy while watching the show. Gates will open at 4 pm, so secure a good spot early. The main show, on the other hand, will start at 6:30 pm and finish at 8:30 pm. This event is free and will happen on 17th December. Learn more about Carols in the Park here.

Watch the Candlelight Holiday Special: A Night of Christmas Classics at Saint Monica's Cathedral

Capture the spirit of Christmas and be enthralled by watching the Candlelight Holiday Special at Saint Monica's Cathedral. This hour-long show will feature a piano medley of popular Christmas tunes and classical music by Debussy, Tchaikovsky, Vivaldi, and more. It's a must-watch if you love Christmas carols and classical music.

Catch this event on 14th December at 6:30 pm or 8:30 pm. Learn more about this event and book your tickets here
